NAS Glenview, located near Chicago, Illinois, was one of the premier reserve aviation installations in the nation until its closure under the Base Realignment and Closure process. MACG-48, as part of the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, operated from Glenview alongside other reserve units, maintaining the air command and control skills needed to support Marine aviation operations when activated. The Glenview connection gave MACG-48 Marines a unique identity within the reserve community, and this patch preserves that specific heritage.
