Marine Air Control Group MACG-2 — Embroidered Patch
Eyes and Ears of 2nd MAW
MACG-2 was the command and control backbone of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, coordinating air defense, air traffic control, and direct air support operations that kept Marine aviation organized and lethal. This officially licensed patch represents the Marines who controlled the airspace and directed the fight.
Marine Air Control Group 2 served as the higher headquarters for the air command and control units of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. The group coordinated the Marine Air Command and Control System through its subordinate Marine Air Control Squadrons, Marine Air Support Squadrons, Marine Tactical Air Command Squadrons, and Marine Wing Communications Squadrons. MACG-2 Marines were responsible for air surveillance, early warning, intercept control, airspace management, direct air support coordination, and tactical data link operations — the essential command and control functions that turn individual aircraft into a coordinated fighting force.
Perfect For:
MACG-2 veterans, 2nd MAW air command and control Marines, MACS and MASS personnel, and Marine aviation C2 heritage collectors.
