H&MS-39 — USMC Embroidered Patch
Camp Pendleton's Rotary Wing Maintainers
H&MS-39 has been the maintenance force behind MAG-39's combat helicopter and tiltrotor operations since the group's reactivation at Camp Pendleton. This officially licensed patch represents the Marines who keep the West Coast's light attack and assault support aircraft combat-ready.
Provisional H&MS-39 was first activated on 16 April 1968 at Quang Tri Airfield, Vietnam, supporting the tactical squadrons of Provisional MAG-39 at Quang Tri, Dong Ha, and Khe Sanh. After deactivation in 1969, the squadron was reactivated at Camp Pendleton in 1978 to support UH-1 Hueys, AH-1 Cobras, and OV-10 Broncos. Redesignated MALS-39 in 1988, the unit has supported Desert Storm, Operation Restore Hope in Somalia, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and continuous Western Pacific deployments. The squadron provides aviation logistics support for 182 aircraft assigned to MAG-39, including the AH-1Z Viper, UH-1Y Venom, and MV-22 Osprey.
Perfect For:
H&MS-39 and MALS-39 veterans, MAG-39 Marines, Camp Pendleton aviation community, 3rd MAW maintenance personnel, and rotary wing maintenance collectors.
