H&MS-32 — USMC Embroidered Patch
Philippines Campaign Maintainers
When MAG-32's SBD Dauntless dive-bombers were dropping over 19,000 bombs on Japanese positions in the Philippines, it was H&MS-32 Marines who kept those aircraft armed, fueled, and mission-ready. This officially licensed patch honors the maintenance warriors of one of World War II's most active air groups.
Headquarters and Maintenance Squadron 32 was activated alongside MAG-32 in February 1943 at MCAS Cherry Point and deployed to the Pacific in 1944. The squadron's Marines maintained aircraft through the grueling Philippines campaign, operating from expeditionary airfields carved out of the jungle at Mangaldan, Zamboanga, and other forward locations. H&MS-32 kept MAG-32's dive-bombers flying over 8,842 combat sorties in conditions that would test any maintenance organization. Their professionalism under fire established the standard for Marine aviation maintenance in austere expeditionary environments.
Perfect For:
H&MS-32 veterans and their families, MAG-32 Marines, World War II aviation maintenance historians, and USMC heritage patch collectors.
