H&MS-29 — USMC Embroidered Patch
War Eagle Maintainers
Behind every War Eagle sortie, there's been an H&MS-29 Marine who made it happen. This headquarters and maintenance squadron has been the logistical heartbeat of MAG-29 since the group's commissioning, keeping the rotary wing combat power of the East Coast ready to deploy at a moment's notice. This officially licensed patch honors that essential mission.
H&MS-29 was activated alongside MAG-29 on 1 May 1972 at MCAS New River. The squadron has supported every major MAG-29 deployment, from Desert Shield and Desert Storm to operations in Somalia, the former Yugoslavia, Haiti, Afghanistan, and Iraq. The unit's Marines maintained readiness on UH-1N Hueys, AH-1 Cobras, CH-46 Sea Knights, CH-53E Super Stallions, and now the AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom platforms. Later redesignated MALS-29 — the "Wolverines" — the squadron continues to provide world-class aviation logistics support at MCAS New River.
Perfect For:
H&MS-29 and MALS-29 veterans, MAG-29 War Eagle Marines, MCAS New River community, 2nd MAW maintenance personnel, and rotary wing maintenance collectors.
