H&MS-13 — USMC Embroidered Patch
Supporting the Harrier Force
From the jungles of Samoa in 1942 to the desert of Yuma today, H&MS-13 has been the maintenance backbone of MAG-13 through every chapter of its distinguished history. This officially licensed patch represents the Marines who keep the jets armed, fueled, and flying.
Commissioned on 1 March 1942 in San Diego, H&MS-13 supported MAG-13 through World War II campaigns in the Samoan and Marshall Islands. During the Korean War, the squadron deployed to Hawaii and Japan, and in September 1966, it moved to Chu Lai, Vietnam, where it used TF-9J Cougars and TA-4F Skyhawks as fast forward air control aircraft in support of ground troops. Redesignated as MALS-13 in October 1988, the unit deployed for Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom — including embarking aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard. Now known as the "Black Widows" at MCAS Yuma, the squadron supports MAG-13's F-35B Lightning II squadrons.
Perfect For:
H&MS-13 and MALS-13 veterans, MAG-13 Marines, MCAS Yuma personnel, F-35B and AV-8B maintenance community, and Marine aviation support collectors.
