Official US Army 283rd Dust Off Hel Amb Sticker - 283rd Medical Detachment (Helicopter Ambulance), U.S. Army DUSTOFF Vietnam-era aeromedical evacuation unit vinyl sticker.

Dedicated Unhesitating Service To Our Fighting Forces — the creed behind every Huey that lifted off into a hot zone to bring the wounded home.

The 283rd Medical Detachment (Helicopter Ambulance) was activated in 1966 and deployed to Vietnam as part of the Army's expanding DUSTOFF network, flying under call signs such as DUSTOFF 61 across some of the war's most contested terrain. The unit operated UH-1 Huey helicopters into active fire zones, evacuating casualties from forward clearing stations to evacuation hospitals under conditions that gave DUSTOFF crews among the highest casualty rates of any non-infantry unit in the war. At Dak To, a single ship from the 283rd flew the first evacuation runs from the 4th Medical Battalion's clearing station back to the 71st Evacuation Hospital at Pleiku, a mission that captured the unit's role in keeping wounded soldiers alive when ground transport was not an option. The 283rd later moved to Long Binh in 1971 and continued operations until standing down in November 1972, leaving behind a record of service tied directly to the broader DUSTOFF legacy that still defines Army aeromedical evacuation today. This vinyl sticker brings that history into a durable, display-ready format suited for collections, tribute boards, lockers, gear cases, and shadow box arrangements.

Perfect For: U.S. Army veterans, Vietnam War historians, DUSTOFF and MEDEVAC collectors, aeromedical evacuation crews past and present, military medicine enthusiasts, family members honoring a loved one's service with the 283rd, shadow box builders, unit reunion displays, and anyone assembling a serious Army aviation or medical heritage collection that honors the pilots, medics, and crew chiefs who flew unarmed into combat to save lives.

283rd Dust Off heritage — every sticker a small tribute to the crews who answered the call when minutes were the only margin that mattered.
