Officially Licensed Pop-A-Smoke Combat Air Crew Wings Key Ring - USMC Combat Helicopter and Tiltrotor Association officially licensed Combat Aircrew Wings emblem key ring.

Pop a smoke, mark the zone, and carry the legacy of Marine rotary-wing heritage wherever you go.

Pop-A-Smoke is the USMC Combat Helicopter and Tiltrotor Association, connecting Marine rotary-wing and tiltrotor aircrew across every generation from the first HRS helicopters in Korea to the MV-22 Ospreys of today. The name itself comes from the Vietnam-era call that helicopter crews used to locate fellow Marines on the ground, asking them to ignite a colored smoke grenade to mark the landing zone and give the pilot wind direction. Combat Aircrew Wings, the insignia reproduced on this key ring, were earned by enlisted Marines and Corpsmen after completing 21 flights over hostile territory as a designated crew member, with three gold stars awarded for strike missions involving direct action against the enemy. The silver wing design has remained essentially unchanged since its creation in 1943, making it one of the most enduring badges in Marine and naval aviation history. The association preserves that heritage through reunions, scholarship programs, and officially licensed products that keep the story of Marine helicopter crews alive for veterans, families, and collectors who understand what those wings actually cost to earn.

Perfect for Marine helicopter veterans, combat aircrew alumni, crew chiefs and gunners, medevac and recon aircrew, Pop-A-Smoke association members, Vietnam-era Marine aviation families, shadow box builders, reunion attendees, challenge coin and patch collectors, and anyone who wants to carry a piece of Marine rotary-wing history on their keys every day. It also makes a meaningful gift for supporters who want something officially licensed, historically grounded, and tied directly to the crews who flew into hostile territory to bring Marines home.

Combat Aircrew Wings, officially licensed, earned in smoke and carried in memory.
