Grenada Pop-A-Smoke Patch — Marine Helicopter Association Operation Urgent Fury Embroidered Patch
Pop-A-Smoke Grenada — honoring Marine rotary-wing veterans of Operation Urgent Fury.
This Pop-A-Smoke patch honors Marine helicopter aircrew who served during Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada in October 1983. Marine helicopters provided assault transport, close air support, and evacuation during the U.S. intervention to rescue American medical students and restore order on the Caribbean island nation. Marine CH-46s, CH-53s, UH-1s, and AH-1 Cobras all participated in the brief but intense operation, demonstrating the Marine Corps' ability to project power from the sea with rotary-wing aviation.
Perfect For:
Grenada/Operation Urgent Fury Marine helicopter veterans, Pop-A-Smoke association members, 1983 Grenada operation historians, and Caribbean operations aviation patch collectors.
