Pop-a-Smoke Lebanon Patch — Marine Helicopter Association Lebanon Operations Embroidered Patch
Pop-A-Smoke Lebanon — honoring Marine rotary-wing veterans who served in Beirut during one of the Corps' most dangerous peacekeeping missions.
This Pop-A-Smoke patch honors Marine helicopter aircrew who served during operations in Lebanon from 1982 to 1984. Marine rotary-wing units provided critical airlift, resupply, medevac, and VIP transport as part of the Multinational Force in Beirut — operating from amphibious ships offshore and flying into the chaos of a civil war that included artillery attacks, sniper fire, and the devastating October 23, 1983 barracks bombing that killed 241 American servicemembers. Marine helicopter crews flew thousands of hours in support of the MAU, transporting supplies, evacuating wounded, and ferrying diplomats across a city torn apart by factional violence.
Perfect For:
Lebanon/Beirut Marine helicopter veterans, Pop-A-Smoke association members, 1982-1984 MNF Lebanon operations veterans, Marine rotary-wing peacekeeping community, and Lebanon operations patch collectors.
