Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 362, the Ugly Angels, deployed as part of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force 21.1, providing MV-22B Osprey assault support and crisis response capability. The SPMGTF construct allows the Marine Corps to forward-deploy tailored, rapidly deployable forces to respond to contingencies, embassy reinforcement, or humanitarian crises. VMM-362's participation in SPMGTF 21.1 demonstrated the flexibility and readiness of Marine tiltrotor units to operate far from home in austere and demanding environments.
