This embroidered patch represents the ordnance section of Marine Attack Squadron 311 (VMA-311), the Tomcats. The ordnance Marines of VMA-311 are the ones who build up, load, and arm the weapons that the Tomcats deliver on target. Whether it was bombs on the AV-8B Harrier or earlier A-4 Skyhawk platforms, the ordies of VMA-311 ensured every piece of ordnance was built correctly, loaded safely, and armed properly. This patch recognizes the critical work of the Marines who handle explosives so pilots can deliver them.
