USMC Officer Infantry Course Patch — Marine Corps Infantry Officer Course Embroidered Patch
The Infantry Officer Course — where Marine lieutenants earn the right to lead infantry Marines.
The USMC Officer Infantry Course patch represents one of the most demanding military training programs in the world. The Infantry Officer Course (IOC) at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, is the crucible through which every Marine infantry officer must pass before earning the right to lead an infantry platoon. IOC is widely regarded as the most physically and mentally demanding entry-level officer course in the United States military, with an attrition rate that ensures only the most capable officers earn the 0302 infantry MOS.
IOC pushes lieutenants to their absolute limits over approximately thirteen weeks of intensive training in small unit tactics, weapons employment, fire support coordination, land navigation, and combat decision-making under extreme physical stress. Students conduct long-range patrols, live-fire exercises, amphibious operations, and sustained field problems that simulate the demands of combat leadership at the platoon and company level. Sleep deprivation, hunger, and physical exhaustion are constant companions — by design. The course produces officers who can think clearly under pressure, make sound tactical decisions when exhausted, and lead Marines in the most demanding combat environment. Graduating IOC is one of the proudest accomplishments in any Marine officer's career.
Perfect For:
IOC graduates, Marine infantry officers, 0302 MOS holders, TBS and Quantico alumni, infantry community members, and anyone who earned their right to lead through IOC.
