United States Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa (MARFOREUR/AF) is the Marine Corps component command to both U.S. European Command (EUCOM) and U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM). MARFOREUR/AF coordinates Marine Corps activities across the European and African theaters, providing Marine forces for exercises, security cooperation, crisis response, and contingency operations spanning two continents and dozens of partner nations.

MARFORER/AF's area of responsibility encompasses an enormous geographic range — from NATO allies in Northern and Western Europe to partner nations across the African continent. The command oversees Marine rotational forces, bilateral exercises, theater security cooperation engagements, and the training teams that build partner capacity across both regions. The Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force – Crisis Response – Africa (SPMAGTF-CR-AF) provides MARFOREUR/AF with a rapid-response force capable of conducting embassy reinforcement, noncombatant evacuation, and other crisis response missions.

In an era of great power competition and evolving threats, MARFOREUR/AF's role has expanded significantly, with Marine forces operating from the Nordics to the Black Sea region and conducting engagement activities across Sub-Saharan Africa.
