Officially Licensed USMC HMLA-267 Stingers Squadron Patch — Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron Embroidered Patch
The Stingers — delivering venom from Cobras and Hueys since 1968.
HMLA-267 "Stingers" is a Marine light attack helicopter squadron operating the AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom out of MCAS Camp Pendleton, California, under MAG-39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. The Stingers trace their lineage to HML-267, commissioned on March 30, 1968, at MCAS Santa Ana, California. The squadron has evolved through multiple designations — from HML to HMA to HMLA — reflecting the changing nature of Marine light helicopter operations from utility transport to armed attack. HMLA-267 provides close air support, armed escort, armed reconnaissance, forward air control (airborne), and assault support for the Marine Air-Ground Task Force. The Stingers have deployed aboard amphibious ships and to forward operating bases in support of combat and training operations worldwide.
