Officially Licensed USMC 3rd Bn 24th Marines St. Louis Patches — The Heartland's Warriors
Because St. Louis sent its Marines to the Pacific, the Persian Gulf, and the streets of Fallujah.
3rd Battalion, 24th Marines was a reserve infantry battalion headquartered in Bridgeton, Missouri, near St. Louis, under the 4th Marine Division. First formed in 1943, 3/24 fought through Saipan and Iwo Jima in World War II, earning a Presidential Unit Citation. Reactivated in 1962, the battalion made history as the first Marine reserve unit to go overseas for annual training — assaulting the beaches of Greece in brand-new LVTP-7 amtracs during a NATO exercise. In Desert Storm, 3/24 deployed to Saudi Arabia. During the Iraq War, they were spread across Forward Operating Bases in the Sunni Triangle, participating in the First Battle of Fallujah, the Battle of Najaf, and combat operations in Haditha. Though deactivated in 2013, with its personnel folded into the 23rd Marines, the 3/24 legacy endures.
Perfect For: 3/24 veterans from all eras, St. Louis-area Marine reservists, 4th Marine Division alumni, and anyone who served with the Heartland's finest infantry battalion.
Midwest grit. Worldwide fight. 3/24 forever.
