These embroidered patches represent Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 39 (MALS-39), the Hellhounds, known affectionately as the Hound Pups. MALS-39 provides intermediate-level maintenance, supply support, and aviation logistics for Marine aircraft groups. The Hound Pups keep aircraft flying by maintaining engines, avionics, airframes, and every other system that squadrons need to stay mission-ready. Without MALS-39's maintenance and logistics support, the squadrons they serve would be grounded. The Hound Pups are the backbone of Marine aviation maintenance.
