The Warriors rode Hueys before the Skid Kids had a name. HML-167 represents the heritage of Marine light helicopter operations—the foundation on which today's HMLA community was built.
Marine Light Helicopter Squadron 167, the "Warriors," was part of the Marine Corps' light helicopter community that provided utility and light attack capabilities to Marine ground forces. HML squadrons were the predecessors to today's HMLA (Marine Light Attack Helicopter) squadrons, establishing the tactics and traditions that the Skid Kids community carries forward today.
