**US Army A Co 7/158th Aviation Regiment "Ghost Riders" Patch**
First In—Last Out. The Ghost Riders earned that motto in the skies over Vietnam and carried it through Desert Storm, disaster relief, and decades of Reserve service. This patch belongs to every aviator who kept the rotors turning.
A Company, 158th Aviation Battalion was activated on 25 July 1968 at Fort Carson, Colorado, as an element of the 101st Airborne Division. Deployed to Vietnam in February 1969, the Ghost Riders flew UH-1 Hueys in combat through 1972, earning a Presidential Unit Citation for actions at Dong Ap Bia. The 7th Battalion was later ordered into active service for Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and spent nearly 40 years based at Conroe, Texas, flying Apache and Blackhawk helicopters before deactivation in 2026.
