This PVC patch represents the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing (1st MAW), the aviation combat element of III Marine Expeditionary Force based in Okinawa, Japan. 1st MAW commands Marine aircraft groups and squadrons across the western Pacific, providing fighter attack, tiltrotor, helicopter, unmanned, and transport aviation capability for Marine forces in the Indo-Pacific region. As the forward-deployed Marine air wing, 1st MAW is first to respond to crises from the Korean Peninsula to the South China Sea. This PVC format ensures durability for Pacific operations.
