Officially Licensed US Navy Tactical Support Wing Adversary Patch - Naval Air Force Reserve Tactical Support Wing (TSW) Adversary Training Command Officially Licensed Embroidered Patch.
Red air, reserve-flown, and fleet-ready — the TSW keeps Navy fighter crews sharp by playing the role of the enemy with skill, discipline, and dissimilar aircraft.
The Tactical Support Wing traces its lineage to Reserve Carrier Air Wing 20, established on 1 April 1970, and was redesignated to its current name on 1 April 2007 to reflect its shift from a deployable reserve contingent to a dedicated fleet training resource. Headquartered at NAS JRB Fort Worth, Texas, and reporting to Commander, Naval Air Force Reserve, the TSW is the Navy Reserve's only tactical wing and the backbone of all Navy adversary training. When the active-duty adversary squadrons were disestablished in the mid-1990s, the TSW absorbed that mission entirely, fielding four adversary squadrons — the River Rattlers of VFA-204, the Fighting Omars of VFC-12, the Sun Downers of VFC-111, and the Fighting Saints of VFC-13 — alongside the electronic attack Star Warriors of VAQ-209. Flying F-5 Tiger II and F/A-18 Hornet aircraft in dissimilar air combat training scenarios, TSW crews simulate near-peer threats so fleet pilots can build the instincts, timing, and tactical awareness needed to survive and win in contested airspace. This officially licensed embroidered patch represents that unique mission and the reserve aviators who execute it with the same professionalism as any active-duty squadron.
Perfect For: Tactical Support Wing veterans and alumni, adversary squadron pilots and maintainers, VFC-12, VFC-13, VFC-111, and VFA-204 crew members, Naval Air Force Reserve collectors, dissimilar air combat training enthusiasts, Navy Reserve aviation historians, shadow box builders, cruise book displays, reunion gifts, and anyone who wants a patch that represents the reserve community keeping the entire fleet's fighter edge sharp.
TSW heritage — the reserve force that plays the enemy so the fleet never forgets how to win.
