Custom U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) commemorative vinyl sticker.

Scientiæ Cedit Mare — the Sea Yields to Knowledge. New London, Connecticut, since 1876.

The U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut is the smallest and most specialized of America's five federal service academies — the others being USNA, USMA, USAFA, and USMMA. Founded in 1876 as the "School of Instruction of the Revenue Cutter Service," the Academy began with nine cadets sailing aboard the topsail schooner Dobbin from Baltimore on a two-year training voyage. The Academy moved ashore to Fort Trumbull in New London in 1910 and relocated to its current location two miles up the Thames River in 1932. The motto is "Scientiæ Cedit Mare" — Latin for "The Sea Yields to Knowledge" — paired with the Coast Guard's broader "Semper Paratus" (Always Ready) and the Academy's honor concept: "Who Lives Here Reveres Honor, Honors Duty." The Academy mascot is Objee the Black Bear, adopted in 1926, and a live bear cub was kept on campus for over 50 years until 1984. The Academy's training ship is the USCGC Eagle (WIX-327), seized as a war prize from Nazi Germany after WWII and brought to New London in 1946 — the three-masted barque is still where every USCGA cadet learns to handle a square-rigged tall ship under sail. This vinyl sticker is for every Bear, every Eagle cadet, every USCGA grad. Outdoor-grade vinyl, sharp die-cut edge, ready to ride.

Perfect For: U.S. Coast Guard Academy cadets and alumni, USCG officers and enlisted personnel, USCGC Eagle crew and sail-training graduates, federal service academy heritage collectors, Coast Guard families, New London Connecticut natives, and Bears fans of every generation.
