Officially Licensed US Navy USS Dewey (DDG-105) Patch — Arleigh Burke-Class Flight IIA Guided Missile Destroyer USS Dewey Yokosuka DESRON 15 Embroidered Patch

The Will to Fight from the Heart — USS Dewey DDG-105, forward-deployed Yokosuka.

USS Dewey (DDG-105) is an Arleigh Burke-class (Flight IIA) Aegis guided missile destroyer of the United States Navy, the 55th destroyer of her class, and the third US Navy ship named in honor of Admiral George Dewey — the hero of the Battle of Manila Bay during the 1898 Spanish-American War. The ship was built by Northrop Grumman Ship Systems (now HII Ingalls Shipbuilding) in Pascagoula, Mississippi: keel laid October 4, 2006, launched January 26, 2008, and commissioned March 6, 2010 at Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, California — the first ship commissioning ever held at Seal Beach. Dewey is forward-deployed to Yokosuka, Japan as part of Destroyer Squadron 15 (DESRON 15) under the George Washington / Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group, providing US 7th Fleet with persistent forward Aegis ballistic missile defense, anti-air warfare, anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, and Tomahawk strike capability. Across her service Dewey has been the testbed for several pioneering capabilities — including the April 2013 installation and at-sea testing of the experimental Laser Weapon System (LaWS), the Navy's first deployed solid-state laser weapon — and has executed multiple high-profile Indo-Pacific operations, including a May 2017 freedom of navigation operation in the South China Sea. The ship's motto, "Dynamis Ex Cardias" (The Will to Fight from the Heart), captures the crew's identity.

Perfect For: USS Dewey DDG-105 sailors, chiefs, and officers, Destroyer Squadron 15 (DESRON 15) personnel, Yokosuka Japan and US 7th Fleet forward-deployed naval forces (FDNF) families, Arleigh Burke-class destroyer community, Aegis combat system technicians and surface warfare officers (SWOs), Laser Weapon System (LaWS) test history enthusiasts, Admiral George Dewey and Spanish-American War historians, and Pascagoula HII Ingalls shipbuilders.
