Officially Licensed US Navy Destroyer Squadron 7 Sticker - Destroyer Squadron 7 (DESRON 7), U.S. Seventh Fleet Forward-Deployed Naval Forces, officially licensed vinyl sticker.
Over a century of surface warfare history, from Atlantic convoy duty to the South China Sea, carried in one clean, durable sticker.
Destroyer Squadron 7 traces its origins to September 1920, when it was established as a reserve squadron of 15 destroyers at Charleston, South Carolina. Reactivated in 1939 and reformed at Newport, Rhode Island in December 1940, the squadron served across the Atlantic and Mediterranean theaters throughout World War II, participating in the invasions of Sicily, Italy, and Southern France before four of its ships entered Tokyo Bay for the Japanese surrender ceremony in September 1945. In the decades that followed, DESRON 7 saw action at the Battle of Inchon during the Korean War, conducted Market Time patrols and shore bombardments during Vietnam, and during Operation Desert Storm directed multinational forces as the North Arabian Gulf Local Anti-Surface Warfare Commander in operations that eliminated the Iraqi Navy. In December 2012, the squadron shifted its homeport to Singapore, becoming the U.S. Navy's first forward-deployed DESRON command in Southeast Asia in more than 40 years. Today it serves as the primary tactical and operational commander of littoral combat ships deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility and leads the annual Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training exercise series with partner navies across the region.
Perfect For: U.S. Navy surface warfare veterans, DESRON 7 sailors and alumni, Seventh Fleet supporters, littoral combat ship crews, destroyer and frigate enthusiasts, naval history collectors, deployment keepsake displays, shadow boxes, cruise books, gear and laptop panels, and anyone who wants an officially licensed piece tied to one of the Navy's most operationally continuous and forward-deployed destroyer squadrons. It also makes a meaningful gift for families and supporters who follow the ships, the sailors, and the long arc of surface warfare history that DESRON 7 represents from the Atlantic to Southeast Asia.
DESRON 7 heritage, forward-deployed and officially licensed for the collection.
