Officially Licensed US Navy Destroyer Squadron 26 Patch - Destroyer Squadron 26 (DESRON 26) Par Excellence Norfolk-based Surface Warfare Embroidered Patch.

Par Excellence identity, Atlantic Fleet backbone, and seven decades of surface warfare heritage stitched into one officially licensed emblem.

DESRON 26 was established in 1950 and has carried its Par Excellence motto through combat operations in Korea, Atlantic Fleet deployments, and combat action off Vietnam from 1964 to 1970. By July 1964 the squadron had evolved into one of only three all guided-missile destroyer squadrons in the entire Navy, a distinction that set the tone for the multi-mission identity it carries today. From 1971 to 1974 the Chief of Naval Operations selected DESRON 26 to trial a bold new manning concept under Admiral Elmo Zumwalt, earning the squadron the nickname the Mod Squad. Homeported at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, and reporting to Commander Carrier Strike Group Ten, DESRON 26 is tasked with exercising tactical control of destroyers, frigates, submarines, and aircraft during both peacetime and wartime operations. When deployed with a carrier strike group the squadron commander serves as Alternate Composite Warfare Commander and Sea Combat Commander, directing undersea warfare, surface warfare, maritime interception, and screen coordination across the battle group. That breadth of responsibility, spanning Korea to the Cold War Atlantic to modern carrier strike operations, gives this officially licensed embroidered patch a lineage that goes well beyond a standard unit insignia.

Perfect For: US Navy surface warfare veterans, DESRON 26 sailors past and present, Arleigh Burke-class destroyer crew members, Naval Station Norfolk alumni, carrier strike group collectors, guided-missile destroyer enthusiasts, Navy reunion keepsakes, shadow box displays, cruise book collections, challenge coin and patch boards, and anyone building a serious surface warfare or Atlantic Fleet unit-history collection. It also makes a meaningful gift for families and supporters who want a clean, officially licensed tribute to the sailors who keep destroyers combat-ready across every deployment cycle.

DESRON 26 heritage, Par Excellence, stitched for the surface warriors who hold the line.
