Official Task Force 160th SOAR Night Stalkers Ghostriders Laser Etched Leather Patch — U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Leather Patch
Night Stalkers Don't Quit. Born from the ashes of Desert One — and they've been flying the most dangerous missions on earth ever since.
The 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) — the "Night Stalkers" — is the U.S. Army's only special operations aviation regiment and the world's premier night-fighting aviation force. Formed as Task Force 160 from the 101st Airborne Division after the failed Iran hostage rescue in 1980, the regiment has been in continuous combat operations since 9/11. Night Stalkers fly modified MH-60 Black Hawks, MH-47 Chinooks, and MH-6/AH-6 Little Birds on missions including the rescue of Jessica Lynch, the capture of Saddam Hussein, the raid on Bin Laden's compound, and thousands of classified direct action missions. The "Ghostriders" are one of the regiment's storied elements.
