Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 164 (VMM-164), the Knightriders, deployed as the aviation combat element of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit during WESTPAC 21-1. Flying the MV-22B Osprey, the Knightriders provided assault transport, casualty evacuation, and aerial resupply capabilities across the Indo-Pacific theater. The 15th MEU deploys from the West Coast aboard amphibious ready group ships, maintaining a forward-deployed Marine force capable of responding to crises anywhere in the Pacific and Indian Ocean regions. This deployment patch commemorates VMM-164's specific contribution to the 15th MEU's operational deployment.
