USMC 3rd Anti-Tank Battalion Patch — Embroidered Patch

Armor Breakers — 3rd Anti-Tank Battalion

In the Pacific, in Vietnam, and wherever the 3rd Marine Division faced enemy armor, 3rd Anti-Tank Battalion was the shield. Armed with recoilless rifles and TOW missiles, these Marines specialized in one thing: stopping enemy vehicles dead in their tracks. This patch carries the insignia of the anti-armor specialists who protected the 3rd Marine Division.

3rd Anti-Tank Battalion provided anti-armor capability to the 3rd Marine Division, operating TOW missile systems and their predecessor weapons to destroy enemy tanks, armored vehicles, and fortified positions. During the Vietnam War, the battalion's predecessor units operated alongside 3rd Marine Division infantry in I Corps, providing devastating direct fire support with recoilless rifles against enemy bunkers and fortifications. Anti-tank Marines embedded with infantry battalions, providing organic anti-armor capability at the tactical level. Based on Okinawa, Japan, with the 3rd Marine Division, the battalion supported III Marine Expeditionary Force operations throughout the western Pacific. The evolution of anti-tank warfare in the Marine Corps — from recoilless rifles to wire-guided missiles to modern anti-armor systems — reflects the constant adaptation required to defeat evolving armored threats.

Perfect For: 3rd Anti-Tank Battalion veterans, TOW gunners, 3rd Marine Division personnel, Okinawa-based Marines, and anyone who respects the Marines trained to stop enemy armor cold.
