The Marine Raider Support Group (MRSG) is the combat support and combat service support component of Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) — the unit that trains, equips, structures, and provides the specially qualified Marines who sustain MARSOC's worldwide special operations missions. MRSG provides logistics, communications, signals and human intelligence, multi-purpose canine teams, Firepower Control Teams, and supporting arms expertise to Marine Special Operations Companies and Teams operating across every USSOCOM theater. The unit was originally formed in April 2009 as the Marine Special Operations Support Group during MARSOC's first major reorganization, and was re-designated as the Marine Raider Support Group in June 2015 alongside the rest of the MARSOC "Raider" rebranding. MRSG operates two subordinate battalions — 1st MRSB at Camp Pendleton (West Coast) and 2nd MRSB at Camp Lejeune (East Coast) — each providing general support logistics, signals, intelligence, K9, and fires combat support to Marine Special Operations Forces deployed worldwide. MARSOC was activated on February 24, 2006 at Camp Lejeune, and MRSG has been the indispensable enabler since the Raiders started kicking down doors.
