Forward deployed, first to fight. The 22nd MEU has been America's 911 force from the Mediterranean to the Middle East and everywhere in between.

The 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit is a Marine Air-Ground Task Force that deploys aboard Navy amphibious ships as a forward-deployed crisis response force. Designated Special Operations Capable (SOC), the 22nd MEU has conducted operations ranging from noncombatant evacuations to direct action raids across multiple theaters. With a ground combat element, aviation combat element, and logistics combat element, the MEU is a self-contained expeditionary force capable of responding to any contingency within six hours of notification.
