3rd Littoral Combat Team — USMC Embroidered Patch
Fortes Fortuna Juvat — Fortune Favors the Bold
The 3rd Littoral Combat Team represents the cutting edge of the Marine Corps' transformation — a unit purpose-built for the next war in the Pacific. Redesignated from the legendary 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines, the 3rd LCT is trained and equipped to seize and defend key maritime terrain in contested environments.
The 3rd Littoral Combat Team, formerly 1st Battalion 3rd Marines (the "Lava Dogs"), was redesignated on 23 June 2022 as part of the Commandant's Force Design 2030 initiative. Based at MCB Hawaii under the 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment, the 3rd LCT conducts reconnaissance and counter-reconnaissance, employs and enables multi-domain fires, and establishes expeditionary advanced base sites to support the maritime campaign in the Indo-Pacific. The unit inherits a combat lineage stretching from Bougainville in World War II through Desert Storm, Fallujah, and Helmand Province, now refocused on great power competition in the Pacific.
Perfect For:
3rd LCT Marines and veterans, 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment personnel, MCB Hawaii community, Force Design 2030 supporters, and Pacific-focused Marine Corps collectors.
