Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines provides the command, control, communications, and coordination that enable the battalion's firing batteries to deliver accurate, timely indirect fire in support of the 1st Marine Division. Based at MCB Camp Pendleton, California, HQ Battery houses the battalion commander's staff, fire direction centers, survey teams, meteorological sections, and communications Marines who synchronize every fire mission. Without HQ Battery's coordination, the howitzers are just expensive metal tubes — it's the headquarters element that transforms raw firepower into precisely delivered steel on target.
