This PVC patch represents 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (5th ANGLICO), one of the Marine Corps' specialized fire support coordination units. 5th ANGLICO teams attach to Army, allied, and coalition ground forces to call in naval gunfire, close air support, artillery, and other joint fires that those units couldn't otherwise access. Their motto, "Lightning from the Sky, Thunder from the Sea," captures the full spectrum of fires they coordinate. ANGLICO Marines and sailors are among the most capable fire support coordinators in the Department of Defense.
