**Officially Licensed 1st Battalion 11th Marines Guadalcanal Patch — USMC Artillery PVC Patch**

1st Battalion, 11th Marines — the "Cannon Cockers" who landed on Guadalcanal with the 7th Marines and poured 105mm howitzer fire into Japanese Banzai charges at ranges so close the ground shook under their boots. From the Canal to Helmand Province, the guns never stop.

1st Battalion, 11th Marines (1/11) is an artillery battalion of the 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, based at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Activated on 1 September 1940, the battalion deployed to Samoa with the 7th Marines in March 1942 as part of the 3rd Marine Brigade, then rejoined the 1st Marine Division on Guadalcanal in September 1942, where the 11th Marines played a decisive role at the Battle of the Tenaru and Battle of Bloody Ridge. The battalion went on to fight at Cape Gloucester, Peleliu, and Okinawa during WWII. In Korea, 1/11 supported the 1st Provisional Marine Brigade at the Pusan Perimeter, the Inchon landing, and the legendary breakout from the Chosin Reservoir. During the Vietnam War, the battalion operated from Chu Lai, Da Nang, Khe Sanh, and Dong Ha from 1966 to 1971. More recently, 1/11 participated in Desert Storm and deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in 2010.
