Thai Marines Patch — Embroidered Patch
Guardians of the Gulf — Royal Thai Marine Corps
From the tranquil shores of the Gulf of Thailand to the contested jungles of the southern provinces, the Royal Thai Marine Corps has served as the Kingdom's amphibious fist for nearly a century. This patch honors a force that has earned its reputation through combat against insurgents, border defense along some of Southeast Asia's most volatile frontiers, and unwavering partnership with the United States Marine Corps.
The Royal Thai Marine Corps traces its origins to 1932, when the first marine battalion was formed with assistance from the USMC. Expanded to a regiment by 1940, Thai Marines saw action against French forces in Indochina and fought Japanese invaders on Thailand's southern beaches on December 8, 1941. After being briefly disbanded in 1951, the Corps was re-established on July 30, 1955 and has since grown to approximately 20,000 personnel headquartered at Camp Samaesan within Sattahip Naval Base. Thai Marines have fought communist guerrillas across multiple provinces, secured the Cambodian border, and since 1982 have trained alongside the USMC in the annual Cobra Gold exercise — one of the largest multinational military exercises in the Indo-Pacific.
Perfect For: Royal Thai Marine Corps veterans, Cobra Gold participants, USMC personnel who trained alongside Thai Marines, and anyone who values the enduring alliance between American and Thai Marines.
From the Gulf to the jungle — Thai Marines stand ready.
