5th Combat Logistics Battalion (CLB-5) is the logistics combat element organic to Combat Logistics Regiment 1, 1st Marine Logistics Group, based at Camp Pendleton, California. CLB-5 provides direct logistical support to the 5th Marine Regiment and other elements of the 1st Marine Division — delivering supply, maintenance, transportation, medical, and explosive ordnance disposal capabilities in garrison and in combat. The battalion has deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, sustaining Marine ground combat operations across some of the most demanding environments in the Global War on Terror. The "Warhorse" nickname reflects the battalion's identity as the unit that carries the load so the infantry can carry the fight.
