Officially Licensed USMC 4th Amphibian Assault Battalion Patch — 4th Amphibian Assault Bn, 4th Marine Division Embroidered Patch
Assault from the sea — 4th Amphibian Assault Battalion.
The 4th Amphibian Assault Battalion was a United States Marine Corps Reserve unit assigned to the 4th Marine Division, based in Tampa, Florida. The battalion operated Amphibious Assault Vehicles (AAVs) — the armored, tracked vehicles that carry Marines from ship to shore during amphibious assaults, providing both troop transport and fire support as they transition from ocean to beach.
Amphibious assault is the Marine Corps' defining capability, and the 4th Amphibian Assault Battalion's Reserve Marines trained to execute the most dangerous phase of any military operation: the ship-to-shore movement. AAV crews drove their 26-ton vehicles off the well decks of amphibious ships, swam them through ocean swells, and drove them up onto hostile beaches while providing suppressive fire with their turret-mounted weapons. The battalion's Reserve Marines maintained proficiency in these complex operations through regular drill weekends and annual training exercises, ready to be called to active duty whenever the nation needed additional amphibious assault capability. As part of the Fleet Marine Force, the 4th Amphibian Assault Battalion stood ready to put Marines on any beach in the world.
This patch represents the Reserve amphibious assault warriors.
Perfect For: 4th Amphibian Assault Battalion veterans, AAV crew members, 4th Marine Division Reserve Marines, and amphibious assault collectors.
