USMC 3rd Marine Regiment Patch — Embroidered Patch
The Third Marines — Pacific Warriors
The 3rd Marine Regiment has carried the fight across the Pacific since World War II, building a combat legacy forged on island battlefields and sustained through decades of forward deployment in the Western Pacific.
Activated in 1942, the 3rd Marines fought as part of the 3rd Marine Division at Bougainville in November 1943 and the recapture of Guam in July 1944, where the regiment made amphibious landings against fortified Japanese positions. The regiment was held in reserve during Iwo Jima but stood ready to reinforce if needed. After the war, the 3rd Marines were stationed in the Pacific, maintaining a forward presence that continues today. Based at Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kaneohe Bay for decades, the regiment deployed regularly to the Western Pacific under the Unit Deployment Program, training alongside allied forces throughout the Indo-Pacific region. The regiment's Marines have deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, continuing the tradition of expeditionary warfare that defines the 3rd Marines.
Perfect For:

Born in the Pacific — still standing watch there.
