USMC 3rd Battalion 7th Marines The Cutting Edge Patch — Embroidered Patch
The Cutting Edge — 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines
When the 7th Marines need a battalion that leads from the front and cuts through whatever stands in its way, 3/7 answers the call. "The Cutting Edge" isn't a nickname that was given — it was earned through decades of being the first into the breach.
3rd Battalion, 7th Marines is based at MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, California, as part of the 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. Activated on 1 January 1941 at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, 3/7 fought through Guadalcanal, Cape Gloucester, Peleliu, and Okinawa in the Pacific War. At the Chosin Reservoir in Korea, the 300 remaining Marines of 3/7 provided the rearguard as two regiments broke out of Yudam-ni, becoming the last Marines to leave the perimeter as Chinese forces overran it. In Vietnam, 3/7 fought through Operations Texas, Oklahoma Hills, and years of hard combat in I Corps. During Desert Storm, 3/7 became the first allied infantry force to enter Kuwait, breaching two enemy minefields and seizing Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base. In Iraq and Afghanistan — including hard deployments to Helmand Province — the Cutting Edge continued to live up to its name.
Perfect For:
3/7 Marines past and present, Twentynine Palms Marines, 7th Marines regiment personnel, 1st MARDIV veterans, Desert Storm and Helmand Province veterans, and anyone who leads from the front.
The Cutting Edge — first in, last out, always forward.
