3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment (3/6) is an infantry battalion within one of the most storied regiments in the Marine Corps. The 6th Marine Regiment earned the "Teufelhunden" (Devil Dogs) nickname from German soldiers at Belleau Wood in World War I, and 3/6 carries that fierce infantry legacy. The battalion has deployed in every major Marine operation, providing the ground combat power that is the foundation of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force. Third Battalion's Marines are trained in every aspect of infantry warfare, from close combat to urban operations.
