USMC 2nd Battalion 25th Marines Patch — USMC Embroidered Patch
The Empire Battalion — 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines
From the beaches of Kwajalein to the black sands of Iwo Jima, 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines has answered the call whenever the nation needed its reserve warriors to stand and fight. This patch carries the identity of a unit that has proven — time and again — that reserve Marines are every bit as lethal as their active-duty counterparts.
2/25 was first activated on 1 May 1943 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and assigned to the 4th Marine Division. The battalion fought through four major Pacific campaigns in World War II — Kwajalein, Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima — earning two Presidential Unit Citations. Deactivated in October 1945, the battalion was reactivated on 1 July 1962 at Garden City, New York, as part of the 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve. Known as the "Empire Battalion," 2/25 mobilized for Desert Storm in 1990–91, deployed to Camp Lejeune in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2002, and has continued to provide trained reserve infantry to support operations across the globe. Today the battalion is headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, with companies spread across the Mid-Atlantic states.
Perfect For: Veterans of 2/25, 25th Marines or 4th Marine Division personnel, Marine reservists, WWII Pacific campaign historians, and anyone who respects the legacy of citizen-Marines who fight like regulars.
Reserve by designation. Relentless by reputation.
