USMC 1st Recon Bn Patch — Embroidered Patch
First Recon — The Division's Eyes
1st Reconnaissance Battalion has been the eyes and ears of the 1st Marine Division since before reconnaissance was even a formal MOS. This patch represents the Marines who go first, see first, and report first — the operators who gather the intelligence that shapes every major operation the Old Breed undertakes.
1st Recon Battalion is based at Camp Pendleton as the division reconnaissance element of the 1st Marine Division. The battalion's Marines conduct amphibious, ground, and deep reconnaissance operations in support of I MEF and its subordinate commands. Made famous by Evan Wright's book and HBO miniseries "Generation Kill," which documented 1st Recon's role as the tip of the spear during the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the battalion has a combat record that spans Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Recon Marines are among the most highly trained conventional forces in the military, qualified in combat diving, small-unit tactics, and advanced communications.
Perfect For:
1st Recon Marines past and present, 1st MARDIV personnel, Camp Pendleton Marines, Generation Kill fans, BRC graduates, reconnaissance community members, and anyone who knows that the fight starts with intelligence.
First Recon — seeing the battlefield before anyone else.
