USMC 1st Force Recon Company Patch — Embroidered Patch

Swift, Silent, Deadly

First Force Reconnaissance Company represents the elite edge of Marine Corps ground combat capability. This patch is worn by the Marines who operate behind enemy lines, who conduct deep reconnaissance, direct action, and special operations in the most hostile environments on earth. If you've earned the right to wear it, you've proven yourself among the best the Corps has to offer.

1st Force Recon was activated in 1957 at Camp Pendleton as the Marine Corps' first deep reconnaissance unit, trained to operate independently far ahead of the main body to gather intelligence that would shape division and MEF-level decisions. The company pioneered military freefall parachuting, combat diving, and small-unit reconnaissance tactics that became the foundation for Marine special operations. In Vietnam, 1st Force Recon teams operated deep in enemy territory, conducting long-range patrols that provided critical intelligence on North Vietnamese movements. The company deployed to Desert Storm, Somalia, Iraq, and Afghanistan, maintaining its reputation as the most elite conventional reconnaissance unit in the Department of Defense. Many of its Marines went on to form the nucleus of Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC).

Perfect For:
Force Recon Marines past and present, MARSOC operators, reconnaissance community veterans, special operations enthusiasts, 1st MARDIV personnel, Camp Pendleton Marines, and anyone who respects the warriors who go where nobody else can.

Swift, silent, deadly — 1st Force Recon.
