USMC 1st Battalion 1st Marines 1st MARDIV Patch — Embroidered Patch
First of the First — The Tip of the Spear's Tip
1st Battalion, 1st Marines holds a designation that puts it at the very point of the Marine Corps' most storied division. The "First of the First" has been leading the way since World War II, carrying the 1st Marine Regiment's legacy into every major conflict the Corps has fought.
As part of the 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1/1 has fought at Guadalcanal, Cape Gloucester, Peleliu, Okinawa, Inchon, the Chosin Reservoir, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Based at Camp Pendleton, the battalion has been at the tip of the spear for eight decades of continuous service. In Iraq, 1/1 was part of the 1st Marine Division's historic advance to Baghdad in 2003 and later fought in some of the most intense urban combat of the war in Al Anbar province. The battalion's Marines carry the weight of being the first battalion of the first regiment of the first division — a designation that demands excellence.
Perfect For:
Marines who served with 1/1, 1st Marines regiment personnel, 1st MARDIV veterans, Camp Pendleton Marines, Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, and anyone who appreciates what it means to be first of the first.
First of the First — always at the point.
