As a Combat Logistics Regiment (CLR), the 17th managed the critical supply chain, transportation, maintenance, and distribution operations that sustain Marine combat forces in the field. From ammunition resupply and vehicle maintenance to fuel distribution and casualty evacuation support, combat logistics regiments are the lifeline that connects rear-area supply points to forward-deployed combat units. Without CLR support, the rifle companies and artillery batteries cannot sustain operations.
