This deployment patch represents HMLA-169 Vipers' detachment that deployed with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit during the 19.2 rotation. The "Skid Kids" — AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom crews — provided close air support, armed escort, and reconnaissance for the MEU across the Indo-Pacific. The 31st MEU is America's crisis response force in the Western Pacific.
