USMC 11th Marines Cannon Cockers Patch — Embroidered Patch
The King of Battle — 1st MARDIV's Thunder
When Marines of the 1st Division are in contact and need fire support, the 11th Marines bring the thunder. As the artillery regiment of the most decorated division in the Corps, the 11th Marines have been delivering steel on target since Guadalcanal — and they've never stopped.
The 11th Marine Regiment has served as the artillery arm of the 1st Marine Division through every major conflict since World War II. At Guadalcanal, the regiment's guns helped defend Henderson Field against massed Japanese attacks. At Chosin Reservoir, the 11th Marines' howitzers provided critical fire support during the fighting withdrawal. In Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan, the regiment continued its tradition of accurate, responsive fire support. Based at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, the 11th Marines are known as the "Cannon Cockers" — artillerymen who take fierce pride in their craft and their role as the division's killing arm.
