Officially Licensed VAW-117 Wallbangers Coin — The Eyes and Voice of the Strike Group

When the fleet needs to see everything and talk to everyone, the Wallbangers are already airborne.

Airborne Command & Control Squadron 117 (VAW-117), the "Wallbangers," has been the eyes and ears of carrier strike groups since 1974. Flying the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye out of NAS Point Mugu, they deploy with Carrier Air Wing 9 aboard USS Abraham Lincoln, providing airborne early warning, battle management, and command and control across the battlespace. From leading the first strikes on Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom to defeating drone and missile attacks in the Red Sea, the Wallbangers have been at the center of every major naval operation for five decades. This officially licensed coin carries the legacy of the only carrier-based command and control platform in the fleet.

Perfect For: VAW-117 veterans and active duty, E-2 Hawkeye crews, CVW-9 aircrew, and challenge coin collectors who appreciate naval aviation heritage.

Fifty years of controlling the fight from 25,000 feet — the Wallbangers see it all.
