Official HMH-772(-) The Hustlers Coin — Reserve Heavy Lifters, Active Duty Results
Weekend warriors? Try combat-tested heavy haulers.
HMH-772 "The Hustlers" is a Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron flying the CH-53E Super Stallion out of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey under Marine Aircraft Group 49 and the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing. As a reserve squadron, HMH-772 has consistently proven that part-time status means nothing when it comes to full-time performance. Activated in 1958 as HMR-772 at NAS Willow Grove, the Hustlers have answered every call — from the Space Shuttle Challenger SAR effort in 1986, to Desert Storm in 1991, to Kosovo and Djibouti with the 24th MEU, to Operation Iraqi Freedom with Task Force Tarawa. In 2009, HMH-772 deployed to Afghanistan's Helmand Province and participated in Operation Khanjar — the largest movement of Marines since Vietnam — becoming the first unit to airlift the M777A2 howitzer in combat. They were also the first reserve squadron to earn the Special Operations Capable designation. This coin honors the Hustlers and their "(-)" — the detachment that always delivers.
Perfect For: HMH-772 Hustlers Marines and veterans, CH-53E Super Stallion crews, MAG-49 and 4th MAW reserve Marines, JB MDL personnel, and anyone who knows that reserve doesn't mean second string.
