US Coast Guard Point Francis WPB 82356 Patch — USCG Cutter Point Francis Embroidered Patch
Small cutter, big mission — guarding America's waters.
USCG Cutter Point Francis (WPB 82356) was a Point-class patrol boat that served in the United States Coast Guard's fleet of coastal patrol cutters. The 82-foot Point-class cutters were the workhorses of the Coast Guard's coastal patrol force for decades, conducting law enforcement patrols, search and rescue operations, port security, and maritime interdiction missions along America's coastlines and waterways.
The Point-class patrol boats were designed for close-in coastal operations, built tough enough to handle heavy seas while remaining nimble enough to chase down smugglers and respond rapidly to distress calls. Point Francis and her sister ships patrolled everywhere from the drug-running corridors of the Caribbean to the frigid waters of Alaska, enforcing federal maritime law and saving lives in every condition imaginable. The Point-class boats also served with distinction during the Vietnam War, where Coast Guard patrol boats conducted Operation Market Time, interdicting enemy supply vessels along the coast of South Vietnam. Many Point-class cutters went on to serve allied navies after their Coast Guard careers ended.
This patch honors the crew of Point Francis and the proud tradition of Coast Guard small cutter operations.
Perfect For: Point Francis crew members and veterans, Coast Guard patrol boat enthusiasts, Point-class cutter collectors, and USCG small cutter historians.
